Ups and Downs

It's late. Not incredibly late, but late. Mostly it's late because I'm very tired. I worked another baseball game tonight. It was my third. I'm getting better at it, learning more and more what is expected and what kind of shots they want. I think it will be a long Summer, and I'll be very tired most of the time, but I will learn a lot. It's a great experience. Classes are done for the semester. Just have to take my exams, and then I am officially 15 hours closer to graduation. I just read a really great article today in "The New Yorker." I've never read "The New Yorker" before. It always struck me as a snobby magazine that uses words that I can't understand. But I came across this article that just happened to be published in it, and thought I would read it. Turns out the article was very good. It's called "Up And Then Down." http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/04/21/080421fa_fact_paumgarten. It's a wonderful read all about the elevator industry and this man who was stuck in an elevator for 41 hours. You can even watch the security camera footage on youtube. And I can be slightly nerdy (I watch a lot of the History Channel and the Travel Channel), so I loved reading about elevators. Go check out the article. Fascinating. Well, I think I will leave it at this for now. There is more I could say, but as I mentioned, it's late and I'm tired. I'll write more soon. Closing thought from Albert Einstein: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Goodnight.

And Good Luck

Well, it has been a while since I've last done this. I think I said that the last time I wrote on here. Something that was brought to my attention in German class: how much the word "I" is used in the English language. And the fact that it is always capitalized. I just thought of this because I used it so many times in my first couple sentences and thought I would throw that out there. this semester has begun to wind down. It never feels like it though, because there is so much to do there isn't enough time to think of the end. Then BAM! there it is. I'm still trying to figure out what I'll be doing this Summer. There are a few options, my dream option being working for NBC during the Olympics in Beijing. That would probably be about the coolest thing ever. I'm trying to rival my brother and his internship with the NFL in New York. Yes, that's jealousy. Speaking of the NFL, I went and saw the movie "Leatherheads" the other day. Great movie. Acting was excellent. The witty one-liners were great. I especially liked the classic movie chase scene that ensued. It only was worth the 7 dollars. I might be biased since most of the movie was filmed in and around Greenville, SC, my home. There were several people in the audience who knew extras in the movie, so that was kind of cool. I wish I had something good to say right now, but I've got a lot of school work to do and I'm pretty tired. I'll write something very smart and funny later. Goodnight.
