Blog On The Run
I'm once again sitting at my computer, writing. It's been a while since I've done this. I haven't had that much time to sit at my computer and write. I just bought a new book the other day. It's called "Bird By Bird" and it's a book about writing. A funny book about writing, actually. I had read a few excerpts out of a friend's copy, and laughed my head off. So, I had to purchase my own copy. I've also started getting into reading magazines. I guess it's all the journalism classes, but I want to read all these different magazines. I've also started scanning news websites and stuff like that. Recently I've begun reading Spin magazine, and I also tried out a GQ. Not that bad actually. A little too upscale maybe, but the articles are decent, and I enjoy some stuff geared towards guys. There were a couple others I wanted to try out while I was at a Barnes & Noble the other day, but I can't quite remember what they were. Oh, I did notice that the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is out. I'll have to go grab a copy of that soon. Maybe I'll put that on my list of things to do tomorrow. The list also includes going to work and class, eating lunch at the new Zaxby's that just opened on the strip, being used as "talent" for a video that Heather has to shoot, and meeting with a group to work on a project for our Mass Comm Theory class. I also need to squeeze in a trip to the grocery store, and possibly get in a few games of racquetball. If I can muster the strength to run a couple miles I might do that as well. I'm still working on this getting-in-shape thing. I don't want to be too pudgy on the cruise. Fat people and beaches don't mix. I don't want to add to the problem that is already at epidemic levels. But it's across the world. Does that make it a pandemic? I'm not sure. My trip back home this weekend went very nicely. I enjoyed getting to see my friends, some that I haven't seen in nearly a year. And of course hanging out with my parents was nice. I don't mean that sarcastically either. I had a good time. Now if I could only figure out a way to get there and back without having to spend 2 1/2 hours in the car by myself. At least I get to rock out to some cool tunes while I'm traveling. Couple cool new songs to check out: "Pumpkin Soup" by Kate Nash is very good. Also, a couple older songs have run across my mind lately: "Plowed" by Sponge and "Six Underground" by the Sneaker Pimps. Also, if you're into techno, go listen to "Pretty Green Eyes" by Ultrabeat. It's great too. Oh, I finally found a song the other day that I have been looking for forever. "Inima mea" by ASIA. Yes, I know that it isn't that good, and that it's in Romanian, but it's a classic. I just found the video on youtube the other day, and it made me smile. Good times in third-world, former Soviet-bloc countries. That's all for now. I will be sure to keep up with this better. Although, this week is looking pretty hectic. I'll be around. You know where to find me.
